looloo rendezvoos: PizzaExpress

by - Monday, February 05, 2018

Filipinos are mad for pizza. And we can name a plethora of pizza restaurants here that majority visits. But, what it really takes a pizza restaurant to be unique?

I was invited by the looloo team in their looloo rendesvooz for PizzaExpress on 02/02/2018 and my first time experience was full of pizzas, pastas, wine, and anything Italian. I've never tasted an authentic Italian food my whole life and thanks to the team for letting me experience it.

PizzaExpress started in 1965 in the UK, founded by Peter Boizot. As I stumbled upon their website, I fell in love with how they were dedicated to bringing great-quality food, delicious food, and plenty of choice for everyone. Including those who are on special diets and kids.

Now, let's move on to my TOP 3 picks.

I told the team that I was born in Bohol and I grew up eating seafood every other day. My clan loves seafood so much it became the family's weekend tradition to have plenty of seafood on the table for lunch. And Liguria reminds me so much of my childhood right after I tasted the crispy crust, together with prawns, mussels, squid, clams, capers, olives, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, lemon, and bechamel sauce (a rich white sauce made with milk infused with herbs and other flavorings). It's perfect especially when served hot.

Since it's thin crust, you can actually roll it to a wrap and eat it that way. 😉

Another Romana Pizza variant that has been right up our alley. Le Rose is unlike any all-meat pizza out there. It's the distinctive smoky smell of freshly fried pancetta wafting from your pie. It didn't settle heavily in my belly even it's loaded with different kinds of protein.

Burrata mozzarella and basil, torn over a baked pizza topped with olives and cherry tomatoes. The sweet-tangy flavor of this one will always remind me of PizzaExpress. Never had this one with other pizza restaurants and how they presented it will make me drift back to this sensory experience.

Chocolate brownie chunks, vanilla gelato, cream, crushed Italian biscotti, vanilla wafer, pistachio, caramel sauce. 😍

PizzaExpress' famous home-baked chocolate cake. This one is sinfully good! 💗

Easy to find since it's only in Uptown Mall, BGC. You may take an Uber or Grab. If not, you may also take a jeepney going to Guadalupe and drop off the Uptown Mall. I'm happy that it's only located at the GF so that elderlies don't need to take the escalator anymore.

I like how the pizzeria looks like. Very Italian feels. It reminds me of those restaurants featured on YouTube Vlogs in Rome, Italy.

For a total of 4.40 star rating!

Suggestions: I hope they could also add more decorations inside the pizzeria and more lamp zapper killer outside as flies couldn't get enough of my Liguria last night.

Recommendation: For me, Liguria's perfect pairing would be the white wine. It was totes amazing! You guys should try it.
